Bo Jackson

Bo Jackson's outstanding athletic career as a Heisman Trophy winner and prolific two-sport professional athlete are a reflection of his belief in the power of sports to transform lives. After retiring from professional sports, Bo completed his college degree in 1995 and has over 22 years' experience as a successful businessman.

In 1992, Jackson started Bo Jackson Enterprises, Inc., which is a sports management company. In 2007, Bo came together with John Cangelosi to form the Bo Jackson Elite Sports Complex, an 88,000-square-foot multi-sports dome facility in Lockport, Illinois and BJES have 4 more facilities in the pipeline spreading from Ohio to Wisconsin. Jackson is part-owner and CEO of both of the facilities. He has been successful with other investments, including a food company, and he is among a group of investors who own The Burr Ridge Bank and Trust in the Chicago suburbs while serving on the bank's board of directors. Jackson started VEJ Holdings in 2013 and is the President & CEO.

Over the years, Bo has been active with many charities including, The Children's Miracle Network, St. Jude Children's Hospital, Make-A-Wish Foundation, Marillac Foundation, United States Department of Education and the Alabama Sheriff's Youth Ranch. Bo started Bo Jackson's Give Me A Chance Foundation in 2008. From the beginning, the cornerstone of Bo's vision was to establish a charitable organization dedicated to enhancing the lives of minority youth by actively supporting educational and athletic programs that guide disadvantaged kids through the challenges of achieving successful personal and professional growth.

The driving force behind Bo's dream was to "Give Back"....give back the time, understanding and guidance so many underprivileged kids never have the chance to experience. The GMAC Foundation has been the driving force to make Bo's dream a reality. Through proper training and interactive programs, GMAC staff have positively impacted the lives of hundreds of disadvantaged children through the participation in sports and related activities. In April 2012, after the devastating tornadoes in his home state of Alabama in 2011, Jackson started Bo Bikes Bama; which is an annual bike ride to raise money to build community storm shelters. To date, he has raised over $700,000, repaired almost 400 homes and built 27 community storm shelters.
